When I was a junior or sophomore in college living in my fraternity’s house I made a bet with a brother, one of my best friends if truth be told, that you could legally purchase a scorpion in the formerly Great State of Michigan. Relax. Breathe deep and try to remember the world isn’t going to end because the youth of our nation have secured for us a future of doom and turmoil. Frat boys do silly things. They do so because when you get 50 or more young men in one place, strange ideas take shape.
This is not to dismiss the criminal activity condoned and conducted at an institutional level by some fraternities, but to re-enforce a notion that our press and those to whom a response to this will fall (the university and punditry) are worried about the wrong problem.

Remember, Remember the Fifth of Movember.
Enter. Monday, week two. Movember.
With week one behind us and the Mo’s all a growth, we readily head into the long stretch of the month. Hopefully, everyone has played their part in helping to spread mustaches to faces everywhere; at work, at home, at school, in your love life. The mustache can enhance all of your experiences. That in mind, here’s an update on Movember activities brought to you by people that are awesome.
Delta Tau Delta: Big Boy Spaghetti Dinner

The brothers of Chapter Theta Xi, Delta Tau Delta will be raising money for their Movember efforts by hosting a spaghetti dinner buffet at the Ypsilanti Big Boy on Washtenaw. During the three hour fundraiser diners will be treated to a soup, salad and fruit buffet in addition to spaghetti. Sales and contributions to Movember will be tracked by ticket sales to the fundraiser so you’ll have to get one in advance.
